GUNS!!

I want to know why you all think we are obsessed with guns? Now me i
think they are good for farmers to protect they're live stock, but i
dont think that they should be carried around like a fashion item.

Why are guns readily available to sometimes young people.
why do we think its okay to shoot in woods at rabbits
why do we think its okay to keep guns in houses. (sometimes loaded)
what age do you all think we should be before we can buy a gun legally? I think that anyone over the age of 20.
why do some people think that kids should be able to fire guns?
why do parents think that toy guns are OK toys for kids? (my kids never had toy guns)
should the police be allowed to carry guns?

personally i HATE guns.

i'd never touch it. i hate guns. they should have been totally forbidden and allowed to have them only in really responsible and rational conditions. god guns suck so bad... they can abrupt lives of anyone in just a second. it's a weapon of death. it should have never been discovered.

I once fired a pistol. So awesome. I would love to be a sniperist. But ofc I wouldnt kill people.
So guns just in sports for me.
And in games.

Because hunting for foot dates back to ancient times, and naturally, with the last few generations of humans being lazy, they use guns to make it easy.

Why do we think its okay to keep guns in houses (sometimes loaded)?

Because people think it will protect them, when all it does is give an intruder a possible weapon.

What age do you all think we should be before we can buy a gun legally?

Above 25.

Because stupid parents can't say no to their kids

Because they are OK. If your kids have a toy gun they can have fun while emulating warfare, not being in it. Would you rather your kids have to join the army and actually kill people to experience shooting a gun?

Should the police be allowed to carry guns?

Yes, no question. If someone pulls a knife, a gun or any other dangerous, potentially fatal weapon on them, which is more likely to happen to the police than a random on the street, they should be able to protect themselves.

I can't tell whether that was an attempt at a joke or an actual thought. If you actually think that, you need to rethink your way of thinking. If I see kids playing a soccer video-game, do I think they're going to become professional soccer players? No. If I see kids listening to music, do I think they're going to become musicians? No.

If I see a kid throwing water bombs, do I think they are one day going to bomb a country? Do I even need to answer?

And the worst thing about that thought? Water guns =/= terrorism. Water guns just give something for kids to do outside that keeps them cool on a hot day. Would you rather see them inside playing video-games?

No, someone who was looking to defend his land more successfully would be the most likely answer, although I'm shit at history, so...

And now to my opinion ( )

I hate guns. Guns end lives thats a fact. But that doesn't mean we should completely ban them, otherwise cars should be banned, as should alcohol and heck, the sea should be completely off-limits. The thing with guns are, some people need them. As Josie said, they are good for farmers who need to protect their livestock. I personally believe guns should not have a complete ban, but should be given out through a tough and strict cross-reference. You have a criminal record? No gun. You have a psychotic record? No gun. You have a history with depression? No gun. You have a history of getting drunk and doing crazy shit? No gun. etc etc etc.

If someone does turn out to be clean, they should first question what they're motive for getting a gun is. "I want to go hunting" is not good enough, as that line granted the gun that caused the Queens St. Massacre. Turns out the guy never said he wanted to hunt wild animals. And then, lastly, people should have proper training for the gun they are getting, so they don't end up accidently shooting themselves or getting hurt by un-expected recoil.

In summary (you know you're bored when you make a post so long it needs a summary), only people who are mentally stable, have a clean record and proper training should be able to carry guns.

Looking at all the stuff I already said will make it pretty obvious when someone is lying. Eg. Person who lives in city wants a gun to protect his live stock.

and what about the illegal black market? you know it's been flooded with guns...

That has nothing to do with the legal selling of guns. It's up to the government to stop the black market.

i wish there were very strict conditions and permissions to buy a gun. but will this ever happen?
